Gary Bradshaw and crew at Miss State have developed this site to help explain many classic and new ideas in psychology. Excellent for intro psych students and upper level students that might need some phenomenologial help with hypothetical constructs. Plus it’s kinda fun for us geeks ;-)

I tried to tag it into disciplines and classes (psychology, intro, experimental, cognitive science) and put in labels of appropriateness (academic, university). I also tagged specifically for this class (cog3310, ch1). I should probably add more tags as I explore the site and find resources on specific topics that I want to share. I’m sure I could get a wealth of information off the site map.

Merlot — Materials listed under Psychology –> Cognitive

MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) is a searchable collection of simulation, experiment, and explanation sites for a variety of topics in Higher Education including Psychology. 42 MERLOT submissions have been classified as Cognitive. Others would fit with our needs, but inly one category can be chosen so browse the entire site. This would be a great resources to check if you have a presentation to make and would like to do something interactive.

My thoughts were to tag this as a general psychology/academic/university quality resources. I also wanted to associate it with cognition and cognitive science. In addition I added our class tag and ch1 to help me remember where to share it with you guys and future cognition classes. My only functional tag seems to be simulations, perhaps indicated what I can potentially do there. It will be interesting to see if I start to label sites, informational/educational/explanational/etc.
